Frank Lloyd Wright - Walker House

In the spring of 2023, Dehmler Rivetti met with the new ownership of the Mrs. Clinton Walker House in Carmel. The new owners initially sought our expertise to consult about the restoration and reconstruction of selected Frank Lloyd Wright furniture pieces, as well as to restore and reconstruct various architectural woodworking elements.

As we studied the architect's original drawings, we discovered that the existing dining table was not constructed true to Wright's drawings. His original drawings also included a shelf unit in the dining area, on the adjacent stone wall, that had never been constructed. Dehmler Rivetti was then commissioned by the owner to remake the dining table and to build anew the dining area shelf unit, along with restoring a bedroom desk and dresser.

In addition, Dehmler Rivetti was instrumental in the selection of the upholsterer for the remaking of the living room window seating, adhering to the original design intent. We also enlisted a local glass artist to remake the original Japanese glass buoys at the front entrance.
